Explosion Classes
In accordance with GOST 51330 hazardous areas are divided into three classes, which needed a partition panels:
* Class Zone 0. Zone in which an explosive gas mixture is present continuously or for long periods of time.
* Class 1 Zone area in which there is a possibility of presence of explosive gas mixtures in normal operating conditions.
* Area of Class 2. The zone in which it is unlikely the presence of explosive gas mixtures in normal operation and if it occurs, it is rare and there is a very short time.
The concept of "hazardous area" in the "electrical codes" is interpreted as follows: Hazardous area - a room or limited space indoors or outdoor installation, in which there are or may form an explosive mixture. In accordance with GOST R 51330.9-99, hazardous area - a zone in which there is, or may form an explosive gas mixture in the amount requiring special protection measures in the design, manufacture and operation of electrical equipment.
In these areas, for the safety of electrical equipment should be used explosion-proof design. Explosion-proof electrical equipment - electrical equipment, which impede the possibility of ignition of the surrounding explosive atmosphere due to the operation of the electrical equipment (PUE).
* Electric high reliability against explosion - emblem of the level in the marking of electrical equipment is the number 2.
* Explosion-proof electrical equipment - emblem of the level in the marking of electrical equipment is the number 1.
* Highly explosive electrical equipment - marking of electrical equipment is the number 0.
