The impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the growth of respiratory system pathologies on the development of the global oxygen equipment market

Влияние пандемии коронавируса и роста патологий дыхательной системы на развитие мирового рынка кислородного оборудования

An increase in the number of cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, as well as another "wave" of coronavirus have a significant impact on the global healthcare market and provoke an increase in demand for one of the main medical gases - oxygen.

Marketing agencies have already conducted studies predicting that the global oxygen equipment market will grow by 8% between 2022 and 2026. The main reason for this is the growing level of environmental pollution, increasing life expectancy and increasing sales of tobacco and tobacco products. Also, one of the market expansion factors is the increase in the number of detected pathologies of the respiratory muscles and heart, tumor lesions of the respiratory system.

Thus, the World Health Organization registered 2.2 million new cases of lung cancer in 2020, which became the second largest disease of the year and the first cause of death. All this werethe factors that provoked a significant increase in demand for portable sources of oxygen, allowing oxygen therapy at home: oxygen concentrators and generators, oxygen inhalers.

It is believed that in the next four years, the above devices will become leaders in the oxygen equipment market due to an increase in patients undergoing long-term oxygen therapy at home.

At the same time, coronavirus has become another disease that provoked a sharp demand for oxygen and oxygen equipment, both stationary and portable. The lack of ventilators and oxygen generators, as well as equipped hospital beds in medical institutions - all this, especially in the second "wave", led to an increase in mortality worldwide.

The World Health Organization monitored the global situation and organized humanitarian deliveries to 37 of the world's poorest and most overpopulated countries. In total, she distributed 30,000 oxygen concentrators and 40,000 pulse oximeters and patient monitors.

Further growth of the market is supported by programs to upgrade resuscitation equipment, improve centralized medical gas supply systems, and reconstruct and modernize medical institutions. In Russia and other countries with a similar healthcare organization system, state structures independently purchase equipment and modernize gas supply systems by region. When equipping healthcare facilities, there is an increased demand for end devices for supplying gas to a patient: for medical consoles and valve systems for medical gases.

CADUCEUS medical consoles provide a safe supply of medical gases to the patient's bedside or operating table, allowing you to organize the workspace of medical personnel, taking into account the principles of ergonomics. Russian medical consoles CADUCEUS are already being delivered to all regions of Russia - from Moscow to Kamchatka, and negotiations are underway to arrange deliveries to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
