Import substitution in the context of external economic restrictions: we can and will produce in Russia

Against the backdrop of sanctions risks, many Western and European companies have closed their representative offices and stopped production in our country. Russian manufacturers, dependent on foreign patented technologies and components, are urgently looking for ways to reorient and establish new supply chains.

It is worth noting that domestic producers and consumers have already faced problems in supplies from abroad during the coronavirus pandemic, when, in addition to closed borders, against the backdrop of high incidence, there was an additional shortage of medical goods and vital medical equipment. During this period, the "Import substitution" program, implemented in our country since 2014, received the greatest round of development, which made it possible not only to effectively develop the competitiveness of Russian goods and services, but also, ultimately, achieve the substitution of imported products with domestic goods and find new sources of income from exports.

Undoubtedly, it is important to form technological chains that will cover all stages of production, from the procurement of raw materials to the release of the final product, in order to meet the needs of the Russian market in high-quality components and complex parts.

The use of high-quality raw materials from Russian suppliers, a special metal processing eco-friendly technology, the presence of its own metrological laboratory and the non-destructive testing laboratory, as well as a quality management system ensure production efficiency and minimize the risk of defects.

Among other things, the company's specialists perform such work as cutting sheet materials, bending metal and pipes of any diameter, welding, powder coating products that create a wear-resistant polymer coating, and others.

The share of Russian products increased by an average of 23% for the period from 2014 to 2021, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The import substitution program had the greatest effect on the machine-building sector.
