WestMedGroup together with the Russian humanitarian mission will begin work in the hospitals of Kosovo and Metohija

After military operations in many areas of Serbia, social facilities are experiencing funding difficulties. The problem is most acute in the territory of the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija, over which Serbia lost control after the NATO bombings and the signing in 1999 of the Military Technical Agreement. In February 2008, Kosovo Albanians proclaimed the Republic of Kosovo, which currently has the status of a partially recognized state. The KFOR peacekeepers are called upon to prevent the resumption of the ethnic conflict between Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo.

WestMedGroup took an active part in the fate of the fraternal Serbian people. In September 2017, the Director of the State Administration for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, and the head of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Russian Humanitarian Mission" (ANO "RGM") in Serbia, Branimir Nesic, in the presence of WestMedGroup Director Alexander Shondin, signed in Belgrade a Memorandum on the implementation of humanitarian and charitable programs to help the Serbian people living in Kosovo. According to this agreement, Russian medical equipment will start to arrive at medical organizations and other social facilities of Kosovo and Metohija, and a training program for doctors will start.

Marco Djuric, commenting on the document, said that this is natural, and it is symbolic that the Russians and Serbs together support the people in Kosovo and Metohija. He noted that it was a serious international organization.

Branimir Nesic expressed the hope that by joint efforts they will manage to make life in this region better.

After the signing of the Memorandum in Belgrade, WestMedGroup management and representatives of ANO "RGM" visited the hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica, where they determined the list of necessary works and equipment.

During the tripartite talks between the Director General of WestMedGroup, representatives of the Ministry of Health of Serbia and ANO "RGM", agreements were reached that WestMedGroup will design and install medical gas supply systems, upgrade the resuscitation departments and operating units of medical institutions. To implement this project WestMedGroup will supply oxygen concentrators, vacuum stations, air compressors, gas connectors and accessories for medical gas supply systems in Kosovo. The negotiations also discussed the delivery of gas-cylinder ramps and filling stations for filling cylinders with medical oxygen and compressed air.
